Welcome to Dream Travels. Adventures on dream sharing, being the expert of your dreams, and synchronicities with waking life.
We dream for half our lives, whether we remember them or not. Dream recall, journaling your dreams, and understanding their meaning takes time. The Lightning Dream Process can be done in minutes between two people and can have a positive impact on actions and how you feel in your day. Journaling and sharing our dreams are well worth it.
There are many reasons to keep a dream journal:
Work through a problem.
See what may be coming in your future.
Understand contrasts in your life.
Connect with loved ones.
Journey on astral adventures to imaginal lands and multiverses.
Gain clarity on your purpose, path, or a situation.
To know who you are and be aligned with your soul.
Track songs, titles, people, places, and notice the synchronicities in waking life.
Enhance creativity.
Dreams are a reminder of our soul’s path.
What’s the point of keeping a dream journal?
When you keep a dream journal you write the details just as you journal about your waking life.
It doesn’t have to be lengthy. Maybe you journal the songs that play in your head when you first wake up. Or you write down colors, feelings, messages.
Is it worth your time?
It’s up to you to decide how much time you can and wish to spend on any type of journaling.
Do I think it’s worth it? Absolutely. I journal my dreams for all the reasons above.
Each month I review my dreams and look for:
Themes
Threads
Synchronicities
Connections
Songs
I reflect on:
How my dreams reflect waking life and vice versa.
How my dreams shift throughout the month. (Especially if I have taken action to honor the dreams.)
How they impact my life.
Here are reflections from my September Dream/Waking Life Review
Titles can give an idea of what issues are still brewing or what’s going right.
Are there any patterns in my titles?
I noticed there were chaotic titles mixed in with positive/creative ones:
Late for a Wedding
Care for Self
Chaos and Over Scheduling
Michele Burns Rubber
Nick Visits
Not Prepared or Clean!
Twin Creations at Stake
Unwanted People and Attacks
Messy Houses and Unwanted Spaces
Lady Rider
Clearing Space for Family and Creativity
The titles tell me that my creativity needs space to flourish. I took this literally because my office was so messy, I couldn’t focus on my work. I physically cleared the space as part of taking action. Looking at my daily journal for waking life, I noted many check-ins of feeling tired, edgy, and stressed in the beginning of the month.
Then I’d have a creative and exciting day that coincided with dreams that focused on connection and birthing ideas. My dreams were telling me that I still needed to clear time, physical and mental space so I could create and connect.
What connections did I make?
Songs were huge this month as have been dreams of my son, Nick.
Heat Wave by Linda Ronstadt
Thunder Island by Jay Ferguson
An Old Fashioned Love Song by Three Dog Night
When It’s Love by Van Halen–twice
Karma Chameleon by Boy George
Baby Come Back by Player
Hot Child in the City by Nick Gilder
Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold
Manic Monday by The Bangles (On a Thursday!)
Ain't No Sunshine When She’s Gone by Bill Withers (directly connected to a precognitive dream)
Some of these songs are easily connected to my dreams. Some may connect in the future.
The synchronicity of my dream songs came when I had a dream of my angel son, Nick.
September 14
Nick Visits
I dream that Nick holds a baby in water. He’s teaching swim lessons and laughs. I hear his voice. I need to take videos of his sweet face. Then Nick turns and I’m holding my big boy. I feel him as if he’s physically here.
That’s the magic of dreams. They are an access point to those you love.
This dream alone is worth keeping in a journal.
But there’s more.
I wake up to Van Halen’s Song: When It’s Love and the words:
“How do I know when it’s love. I can’t tell you but it lasts forever.”
September 17 Dream
Twin Creations at Stake
I dream I am ready to give birth to twins.
I wake up to the song When It’s Love. I feel the need to nest and clear space. I’m not pregnant in waking life but the creations–whether writing or my programs are ready to shoot forth into the world. They come from a place of love.
September 28 Dream
Baby Girl
I dream that Nick and I watch a baby girl with curly blond hair and blue eyes. She’s his niece and he says she’s special.
September 29-Waking Life
Girl Trip to Florida
I’m in the airport getting ready to fly to Florida for a week. September has been a full month and I’m hoping to rest and have fun with my girlfriends. I think of these dreams that are so full of life and joy.
The song When It’s Love by Van Halen plays over the airport speakers as I wait for my flight.
This synchronicity confirms that Nick is close by. What I’m birthing into the world is aligned with my soul’s purpose and filled with love. Plus, there could be some precognitive intuition on future babies.
I will keep an ear out for when this song plays again because Nick reminds me at that moment to pay attention.
If I hadn’t written these dreams, the songs, and reflected back, I would have missed these beautiful connections that are such a joy to me. The fact that my spirit son knows how to connect with me is life changing. It’s important to pay attention because then more will come.
When we take our dreams to heart then so much opens.
Other September Takeaways
Lots of dreams with food that I can’t eat because of allergies. Contrast to my waking life where I check in to take note of what I eat and how I feel. I have nourished myself well and those dreams have faded.
Continue to clear out in physical spaces and carve out time for creativity and rest.
Grateful for my son’s visits and hope he continues to pop in.
Dreams are like a signal from the universe. Thumbs up means keep doing what you’re doing. Thumbs down is a clear sign to pay attention and take action.
Remember, Record, Reflect, and React to your dreams.
They will guide you into the future that serves you best.

I am so grateful when I wake up and I feel as if I just spent time with Ben. I can’t always remember the details, but it is so real and my heart feels a bit fuller on those days. May we always dream of our sons ❤️✨.
Love these "how to" posts on remembering our dreams. I've been working on remembering and it's starting to work--I need to be more conscious of staying in the same position when I start to wake and focusing on my dream--I still shift into 'thinking' mode when I am waking and that interrupts my remembering.
